Top 10 Attractions or Things to Do in Shanghai

#1 The Bund

The bund, which extends from Jinling Road in the south to the Waibaidu Bridge in the north, is a 1.5-kilometer-long boulevard on the western bank of the Huangpu river. walking along Zhongshan Road, not only can visitors enjoy the scenery of Huangpu River but have a glimpse of the development of Lujiazui district on the other side of Huangpu River.


#2 Shanghai Nanjing Road

China's premier shopping street, 3.4-mile-long Nanjing Road, starts at the Bund in the east and ends in the west at the junction of Jing'an Temple and Yan'an West Street. Today it is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world.


#3 People's Square

Shanghai People's Square is located at the very center of Shanghai and was the demarcation point of East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. With Yan'an Gaojia Road in its south, Huangpi North Road in its west and Tibetan Central Road in its east, it is a flourishing place for people to look around.


#4  Shanghai Xintiandi

Xintiandi is located downtown nestled between the towering skyscrapers; it is one of the busiest urban tourist attractions and imbued with the city's historical and cultural legacies. 



#5 Lujiazui

This large scale circular pedestrian overpass enables pedestrians to avoid traffic at the round-about terminus of Lujiazui Rd. The bridge provides access to the Oriental Pearl Tower connecting financiers to leisure areas such as shopping malls and cafes, a transit station and office buildings. The bridge sits almost 20 feet above the street, with numerous escalator stairway entrances and exits. 



#6 Chenghuang temple 

The Chenghuang temple is a Taoist temple, also called Yi temple, which is composed of many a halls such as the grand hall, middle hall, bedroom palace, star gods hall, Yama palace, Xuzhen god hall and so on. the Chenghuang temple had an area of more than 10,000 square meters including two gardens: west garden (Yu garden) and east garden. 


#7  Yu Yuan Garden

It was first established in Ming dynasty by a mandarin named Pan yunduan who used to be the governor of Sichuan and later expanded greatly; the Yu garden was considered the best garden in southeast China. the Yu garden enjoyed a history over 400 years since its first establishment by Pan yunduan who had intended to bring happiness and pleasure to his parents and relatives.



#8 Oriental Pearl TV Tower

The 468 meters high tower, which is the highest in Asia and the third highest in the world, was put into construction on July 30th, 1991 and completed on october 1st, 1994. it faces the bund across the Huangpu River. With eleven steel spheres in various sizes Hanging from the blue sky to the green grassland, the body of the tower creates and admirable image, which is described in an ancient chinese verse as: large and small pearls dropping on a plate of jade.


#9 Cruising on Huangpu River

Cruising on the Huangpu River has become a must for most visitors to Shanghai. Cruise ships vary in size, decoration and amenities, with the most luxurious offering air conditioning, conference room, banquet hall, television etc.



#10 Shanghai Acrobatics


 The Acrobatics at Shanghai are not to be missed. They are held each night and last for about 2 hours. The Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe, established in 1951 is one of the best in China. It frequently tours internationally and perform routinely at Shanghai and other cities in China. An acrobatic show has become one of the most popular evening entertainments for tourists in Shanghai. You can enjoy gravity-defying contortion-ism,  juggling, uni-cycling, chair-stacking, and plate-spinning acts.
